Gold Coast to Gundagai 18th October 2025
A super early start this morning, on the road by 5.15. Very mindful that as soon as we cross the border we have already lost an hour with daylight savings.
Rewarded with a beautiful sunrise tho
Our plan is to get as far south as possible as we only want a one night stay before reaching Portland.
Gundagai is our goal, always nice to get way past Sydney but that will make it a 12 hour driving day all going well.
Everything peachy until about 70 odd kilometres out of Port Macquarie when the old discovery started to limp a bit….
I’m not great a mechanics but it seems we couldn’t effectively clear DPF filter. (I was calling it a PDF) in Stuart’s words it wouldn’t initiate an active burn.
So to cut a long story short, we limped into Port Macquarie to the Landrover dealership and rang NRMA.Nice man came to see us after about an hour or so. He deleted the alarm code and off we went.easy as that…..
Anyhoo, we are now a bit behind time to make it to Gundagai but still hopeful.
Pretty uneventful afternoon and the sun is going down. Quick dinner of KFC, otherwise know as health food and made it to the Criterion Hotel in Gundagai a bit after 8pm.
Long day but grateful for a comfy bed in this really comfy country hotel.
